Best Carnivorous Plant Fertilizer (1-1-1): Ultra-Low Concentration for Venus Flytraps, Pitcher Plants & Sundews Buy on Old Cobblers Farm
Old Cobblers Farm™ Wicked Growth Carnivorous Plants Fertilizer
by Wicked Growth — Littleton, NH
1-1-1 Ultra-Low Analysis
The gentlest formula possible. Only 3% total NPK means even at full dilution the nutrient concentration stays in the safe range for carnivorous roots adapted to pure water and sphagnum.
Dissolve in Distilled Water Only
Mix ¼ teaspoon per quart of distilled or reverse-osmosis water. Never use tap water — mineral salts and chlorine damage carnivorous plant roots and growing media.
Trap or Soil Application
Apply 1–2 drops of diluted solution directly into pitcher plant cups or on sundew leaves, or water lightly onto soil surface. Both methods work for different species.
1,920 Doses Per Bag
At ¼ tsp per dose, one 5 lb bag produces approximately 1,920 individual doses. That's a multi-year — potentially lifetime — supply for a typical collection.
Less Is Always More
These plants survive on almost nothing. If in doubt, use less. A diluted half-dose every 6 weeks is safer than full-dose every 4 weeks. You can always add more — you can't take it back.
Supplements Insect Feeding
Indoor carnivorous plants that can't catch insects benefit most from light fertilization. Outdoor plants catching prey regularly may need no supplemental feeding at all.
All Carnivorous Species
Venus flytraps, all Sarracenia pitcher plants, Nepenthes, sundews, butterworts, and cobra lilies. Same ultra-dilute formula works across the full range of carnivorous genera.
