Product Description

Built for Bulbs, Loaded with Sulfur. The Allium Feed with the Full Guaranteed Analysis

Old Cobblers Farm Wicked Growth 5-10-10 is a garlic and onion fertilizer formulated for the whole allium family — and it carries something rare in a garden fertilizer: a guaranteed analysis that goes beyond N-P-K. Alongside 5% ammoniacal nitrogen for steady top growth, 10% phosphate for roots and early bulb development, and 10% potash for bulb density and storage quality, the analysis guarantees 2% calcium, 3% sulfur, 0.02% boron, and 0.05% zinc.

That sulfur matters more here than in any other crop: garlic and onions are sulfur-hungry plants, and sulfur feeds the very compounds that give alliums their pungency and character. Calcium supports firm, well-keeping bulbs; boron and zinc support bulb formation and even development. The modest 5% nitrogen is deliberate too — alliums want steady tops, not lush ones, and the feeding ends 2–3 weeks before harvest so the bulbs cure and store properly.

Key Benefits

Sulfur, the allium nutrient — Garlic and onions are sulfur-hungry crops, and sulfur feeds the compounds behind their pungency and character — this is the only feed in the line with 3% guaranteed sulfur.

A real guaranteed analysis — Beyond N-P-K, the guaranteed analysis includes 2% calcium for firm, well-keeping bulbs plus boron and zinc for bulb formation and even development.

Measured nitrogen for bulbs — 5% ammoniacal nitrogen keeps tops steady rather than lush — alliums put on bulb when the leaves stay in proportion.

Built to store — 10% phosphate for roots and early bulb development; 10% potash for the density and storage quality that keep your harvest into winter.

The whole allium family — Yellow, red, white, and sweet onions, hardneck and softneck garlic, elephant garlic, shallots, leeks, scallions, and chives.

The curing stop, built in — Feeding ends 2–3 weeks before harvest so necks dry down and bulbs cure — the detail that separates bulbs that store from bulbs that spoil.

Where to use it: raised beds and garden rows, fall or spring plantings, growing yellow, red, white, and sweet onions (Walla Walla, Vidalia types), green onions and scallions, hardneck and softneck garlic, elephant garlic, shallots, leeks, and culinary chives.

Application Instructions

-New plantings: mix ½–1 cup per 10 sq ft into the soil before planting
-Established crops: side-dress ½ cup per 10 linear feet of row once tops are 4–6 inches tall
Steps:
1. Before planting sets, cloves, or seedlings, mix the measured amount into the bed.
2. Once tops reach 4–6 inches, side-dress along the rows, keeping granules off the leaves and away from the developing bulbs' shoulders.
3. Water thoroughly after every application.
4. Reapply every 4–6 weeks through the season — then STOP 2–3 weeks before harvest so the bulbs cure properly.
When and how often: pre-plant, then every 4–6 weeks — with a hard stop 2–3 weeks before harvest. Late feeding keeps necks green and soft, which hurts curing and storage.
What NOT to do: do not feed within 2–3 weeks of harvest, do not exceed the rates, do not let granules sit against exposed bulb shoulders, and do not skip the watering-in.

Ingredients

Ammonium Phosphate – Fast-acting nitrogen and phosphate for early growth, top growth, and strong roots.
Muriate of Potash (KCl) – High-potency potassium that boosts bulb density, drought tolerance, and storage life.
Gypsum (CaSO₄) – Supplies calcium and sulfur to strengthen cell walls for firm, long-keeping bulbs.
Elemental Sulfur (S) – Slow-release sulfur that builds the pungency, aroma, and flavor of onions and garlic.
Sodium Borate (B) – Soluble boron for cell wall integrity and uniform bulb formation.
Zinc Sulfate Monohydrate (Zn) – Bioavailable zinc that supports enzymes, protein synthesis, and steady growth.
